Sigma Beta Rho Fraternity, the Executive Board, and leadership denounce, in the strongest terms, the violence and loss of life perpetrated by racist, nationalist terrorists during a protest in Charlottesville, Virginia. As an organization that promotes diversity in discourse, we respect the First Amendment rights of all Americans. However, when the practice leads to terroristic acts of assault and murder, we are compelled to condemn such bigoted groups.
We share the pain of the families those injured and killed during the attack. We urge each of our brothers to engage their peers in discourse of current affairs, and share empathy for all people. We are a Brother Beyond All Barriers, including those created by our socio-political differences.
